Does trimming your hair make it grow faster?

My friend is trying to grow her hair out, and has been getting it trimmed every six weeks. She wants her hair to be down to the bottom of her neck, and right now its like 2 1/2 inches above her neck. And when will it be all grown out?

it doesn't make her hair grow faster by cutting it. it does however help it grow healthier by cutting off the split ends. once the hair splits, it's easy for it to fall off. her hair will grow regardless, and she is being smart getting trimmed every 6 weeks. think of your hair as your nails - and treat your hair the same way you would treat your nails.

It all depends on your buds hair, it is good that she gets it trimmed, she gets rid of all those dead ends. But, I do not believe this makes it grow any quicker.
