Every time I've ever let my hair grow out, I've always gotten flack about how it's wrong to have long hair. My defense is, if Jesus did it, then it must be a good thing. Who is with me?

I don't believe that Jesus had long hair. You're getting that from Romanist art centuries later.

Nevertheless the Bible says it isn't worth getting argumentative over hair length. Which means do what you want with it.

Hey, "Anonymous" below: read the rest of that chapter in the Bible. It says, if any are contentious, we have no such custom, neither do the churches. Seems that you like to critique others without critiquing your own poor reading skills first.

Let it grow. I grew up in the time when all guys had really long hair. I loved it and still do.

Jesus is also portrayed as being blond, light skinned (white) and with blue eyes.

In reality, as a palestinian jew, he would have been dark skinned, likely dark eyes (possibly green at the lightest) and had dark hair.

Wouldn't rely too much on paintings done without the real subject as sitter.

Not to criticise any one denomination, but there are a lot of strange rules that come from a lot of them...Find yourself a non-denominational church or group of people to assosiate with, and I think you will not get the slack you are getting. apperences really should not matter....all are the same in Gods eyes, we are all his Children regaurdless of our apperence.
