No. It won't. The only reason why it seems dreads grow faster is because of the downward pull of the hair. It stimulates the scalp. "Nappy hair" doesn't grow. Well kept, maintained hair grows. Hair in braids is different. It's the same as dreads. The downward pull on the hair stimulates the scalp (only if there isn't too much pressure on it, it will fall out if put in too tight). If your getting more protein etc in your diet and treat your hair, then it will be healthier and grow at a faster pace then someone who didnt. And combed hair NOT 'nappy' hair will grow faster and be healthier because your scalp is getting more stimulation - although dont do this too much or you'll end up with oily hair!
